Professor Jefferson Moura was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. During childhood, his love for sports carried him to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Considered a significant sport promise, Jefferson Moura received his Black Belt in 1999. And as expected by the BJJ community, a few years later, Professor Jefferson Moura got podium positions for four years in the most prestigious tournament of the sport nowadays, the World Jiu-Jitsu IBJJF Championship.
An extremely talented Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu athlete, victorious in both World and Brazilian championships, Professor Moura took on the gigantic task of filling in for Master Carlos Gracie Jr. and Professor Marcio Feitosa as Head Instructor of Gracie Barra Headquarters in Rio de Janeiro after the famous trainers moved to the United States.
Even if his rank didn’t talk for itself, Professor Jefferson Moura combines two aspects that put Gracie Barra Flatirons’ instruction on another level. The teaching experience of having over 50 Black Belts under him and having a background in Physical Education.
